Happy Halloween!

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble. ~Shakespeare

For those of you who aren't sure where Halloween comes from here's a little history for you. Halloween first began in Ireland with the Celtic. They believed that there was one day a year where the world of the living and the world of the dead alined. Americans left the tradition behind when they traveled to the New World however, in the 1800s when there was a great famine in England, Ireland, and Scotland, the tradition was reborn and is now one of the most anticipated holidays of the year for kids of all ages.

Thirty three people were killed in a blast that went off in Baghdad. The blast hit a Shiite Market. However, the market place was not the only target of interest. Apparently Iraqi educators are on the list too. Several of them have reportedly fled to neighboring countries. The latest academic loss is Essam al-Rawi who was a hard-line Sunni educator according to Fox News. For this and other leading stories please go to www.foxnews.com or www.cnn.com.

Culture Warrior

Wooo hold up! The No Spin Zone entered the Oprah Show today. For those of you who didn't catch the incredible Mr. O (a.k.a. Bill O'Reilly of Fox News fame) go toe-to-toe with the most powerful woman in television Oprah Winfrey it was quite an eye opening take on his latest book titled Culture Warrior. Earlier this month he made an appearance on The View to promote the book which at that point in time was the number one read book in the United States. Today, on the New York Times Bestsellers list O'Reilly's Culture Warrior is currently #3. As for the "No Spin Zone", I think Mr. O better keep spinning this book because middle America can't get enough.
