The last survivor of the Titanic, which sank in 1912, passed away at the age of the 96. Barbara West Dainton passed way in an England nursing home on October 16th. The last American survivor of the night to remember Lillian Gertrud Asplund passed away last year. Mrs. Dainton was born in 1911 and was too young to remember the Titanics final moments and the deaths of 1500 people including her own father. Mrs. Dainton did not wish any publicity over her death and therefore asked to be buried before any public announcement of her passing be made. Her wishes were respected.
